Welcome to Our Living Classroom!
Fort Williams Park offers a multitude of educational opportunities to engage and inspire learners of all ages. Here is where history, geology, horticulture, and ecology merge to provide a unique and diverse learning environment.
Our Education Committee is in the process of developing a series of educational initiatives in partnership with area schools and community organizations. We seek to provide a contextual space for classroom content, as well as extracurricular and service-oriented activities.
Funds have been raised and the eagerly anticipated Children’s Garden will break ground this spring! Stay tuned to see how our activities will continue to grow alongside this and the Cliff Walk landscapes, as well as other areas of the Park.
Enthusiastic individuals with interest(s) in history, geology, horticulture and/or birding are needed to round out the Education Committee (teaching experience is not required!). For more information, please email our Education Coordinator, Janet Villiotte, at firstname.lastname@example.org
We welcome community and corporate groups and will gladly work with you to tailor a learning or service experience to meet your specified goals. You could not ask for a more gorgeous or engaging outdoor classroom than Fort Williams Park! For more information, contact our Arboretum Director, James McCain, at email@example.com or call the office at 207.767.3707.
